Ryan's new goals

BLACKTOWN'S Mat Ryan had a mixed World Cup as the Socceroos' goalkeeper. He probably should have saved a few goals against Chile and the Netherlands, but he pulled off world-class saves against Spain.

"I have to go away now, assess my performances and look at what I can do to improve and help me in these situations against these world-class players," he said.

"I know that conceding three goals in each of these games isn't good enough.

"It's been really eye-opening and I'll have to work really hard on my game to improve."

Blacktown v Manly

BLACKTOWN City FC will play Manly United on Sunday at Lambert Park in the final of the Waratah Cup.

Both teams, who have also qualified for the round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup, won their Waratah Cup semi-final matches in contrasting styles.

Blacktown had a 2-1 win at Belmore against the Blues, thanks to Travis Major's heroics.

In the other semi-final Manly United proved too slick and strong for their opponents, the South Coast Wolves, as they ran away with a 4-1 victory.
