Police charged an ‘L-plater’ and his supervisor after catching him drink-driving at Blacktown.
Officers from Blacktown Local Area Command were patrolling Maloney Street, Blacktown, about 2am today Friday, June 1, when they spotted a white Mitsubishi Magna being driven erratically.
They stopped the vehicle a short time later and spoke with the 21-year-old learner driver.
Both he and his supervisor, also aged 21, were subjected to roadside breath tests and returned positive results.
The pair was arrested and taken to Blacktown Police Station for a breath analysis.
The driver, who had only held his learners licence for two months, returned a reading of 0.110. Learners are not permitted to have any alcohol in their system when they drive a vehicle.
The supervising driver blew 0.084.
They were charged with Mid Range PCA (prescribed concentration of alcohol) and will appear in Blacktown Local Court at a later date.
