Petrol poured over man during Marsden Park home invasion

Police have charged a man over an incident where a shot was fired during a home invasion in Marsden Park in the early hours of Saturdya morning.

A 51-year-old man was threatened and had petrol poured over him during an incident at a house on Townson Road, Marsden Park about 2am on Saturday 2 June.

A shot was also fired but the home occupant was not hurt.

Quakers Hill police established a crime scene and commenced investigations.

Those investigations culminated yesterday when a 25-year-old man was arrested a hotel in Wollongong.

The man was taken to Wollongong police where he was interviewed over the incident.

He has been charged with special aggravated break and enter, fire firearm in a manner likely to injure persons/property, enter building with firearm and use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence.

The man has been bail refused and will appear at Wollongong Local Court today.
