EELS custodian Jarryd Hayne is hoping his 16th appearance for NSW will be a sweet one as he prepares for the Origin decider on July 4.
Hayne, who has played in six consecutive series losses, said the time was right to turn the tables on Queensland.
"NSW is at the point now where we're confident we can compete with Queensland," he said.
"Not only do we have belief, but we know we can match it with them. We know if we do everything we'll train and prepare for [then] it's going to be good for us," said Hayne, who is the most capped NSW player in the squad.
"Coming into game three we have to be even better; we can't just believe we can play the way we did in Sydney."
Hayne's teammates, Shane Shackleton and Troy Savage, have been named in the NSW Cup representative side.
