Candidates for the Blacktown Council elections were announced today.
The local government elections will be held on Saturday, September 8. It is compulsory for residents aged 18 and over to enrol and vote. There is no absent voting so residents must vote at a polling place or pre-poll that issues votes for their local council and ward.
The penalty for those who don’t vote is $55.
Eligible residents may pre-poll vote at Sydney Town Hall from August 31. Residents of the Blacktown local government area can also vote there on election day.
