The NSW boys and girls sides have come away with points after the first round of matches at the football national championships.

The first round of the School Sport Australia Football Championships was played on Sunday at Blacktown’s Lily Homes Stadium and Edensor Park’s Sydney United Sports Stadium.

The girls started their national title bid with a strong four-nil victory over the ACT.

Clare Woods came away with a double, while Jemma House and Nikita Woods also found the back of the net.

The boys started strongly, opening up a 2-0 lead before the ACT swung into gear and hit back twice to level at the final score of 2-2.

Thomas Demelis and Michael Gaal scored for the NSW boys side.
