A break from the public spotlight is almost over for Reece Mastin.
The singer/songwriter will head back on the road next month on his first national tour in almost two years.
The Wolf in the Woods tour will include new material from Mastin's new untitled album due out later this year.
There are three Sydney shows on the 18-date tour, including Castle Hill RSL.
"I don't think I've performed in Castle Hill before so I can't wait to check it out," Mastin said.
He looks forward to touring again after spending most of the year focusing on the album.
"It's a change from the past with a new band.
"I've been writing songs and making sure everything is right.
"I hope to get the album finished soon, followed by another tour at the start of next year."
The new Reece Mastin Fan Club is a private online community where fans can access exclusive offers, competitions and directly connect with the man himself.
In the first live Q & A, Mastin fielded 3500 questions from fans in one hour.
"It's great to have that community who really want to know what's happening."
Winning X-Factor in 2011, aged 16, was a life-changer for Mastin.
"If I could turn back time, I would warn the 16-year-old version of myself to get ready for a bumpy road."
He had this advice for current X-Factor finalists.
"Do what you want to do but stay true to who who are."
New York-based power trio The Kin will open all shows on Wolf in the Woods Tour, fresh from Australian and US tours supporting Pink.
Mastin will perform at Castle Hill RSL on September 27, 7.30pm. Tickets are $50. Bookings: 8858 4800 or click here. He will also perform at the Metro Theatre in Sydney on October 3.
