ATURA Blacktown has shown once again it is a force to be reckoned with in the hotel business.
The hotel has been named a finalist in six categories for the Hotel Management National Awards for Excellence, including interior design, new hotel, mid-scale accommodation, marketing campaign, service to the community and hotel rising star.
The winners will be announced in Sydney on September 5.
The hotel took out the mid-range hotel accommodation and employee excellence in service categories at the recent Tourism Accommodation Australia NSW awards.
October will mark one year since Atura Blacktown opened.
"One of the things that makes us feel most proud about having our property and staff recognised on a national level is that it helps put the spotlight on Blacktown and western Sydney as a tourism destination and great place to do business," operations and development director Geoff York said.
"With more than 90 per cent of Atura Blacktown's staff being western Sydney locals, it has been a great booster for staff morale.
"The success of Atura Blacktown also pays dividends for the area through creation of extra jobs and through revenue generated by our guests as they explore the wider community."
The hotel is also a finalist for "Mid Market Hotel of the Year" at the national Australia Hotels Association Awards for Excellence on September 15 on the Gold Coast.
Two staff members are also finalists in the national people awards — Michelle Paul for excellence in service and Jessica Harford for hotel industry rising star.
