Justin Bieber has been arrested again, and this time he has been charged with assault and dangerous driving.
Canadian Police say the 20-year-old pop star crashed his all-terrain vehicle into a minivan and then got into a fight with one of the van's occupants.
"Investigation revealed that after colliding, the driver of the ATV and an occupant of the minivan engaged in a physical altercation," Ontario Provincial Police spokesman Kees Wijnands told CNN.
Police arrested the troubled star on Friday afternoon, local time, following the incident in the town of Perth East, in south-western Ontario.
The police released Bieber, whose lawyer will appear in Stratford court on his behalf on September 29.
Bieber had been seen earlier the same day cruising on his ATV with his on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez.
Police told E! News there were two people on the vehicle at the time of the accident, but he would not reveal whether the second person was Gomez.
However Bieber's lawyers were more forthcoming to the gossip network.
"Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez's peaceful retreat in Stratford this weekend was unfortunately disrupted by the unwelcome presence of paparazzi," Bieber's lawyer Brian Greenspan told E! News.
"This has regrettably resulted in charges of dangerous driving and assault.
"Mr Bieber and Ms Gomez have fully co-operated in the police investigation. We are hopeful that this matter will be quickly resolved."
Bieber and Gomez had been staying with the pop star's father Jeremy Bieber in Stratford.
A few days before the crash, the pair was seen holding hands after getting off their plane at Ontario airport.
The Daily Mail reports the couple split up last month, but paparazzi photos and Bieber's Instagram account show Bieber and 22-year-old Gomez are very much together again.
The Baby singer posted a picture of Gomez and himself getting cosy on a private jet, and paparazzi snaps show the pair snuggling up on a pool-side chair together in Canada.
 
While his love life might be looking up, Bieber certainly hasn't had a great year when it comes to the law, totalling five court and police-related incidents in the past 12 months.
TMZ says Bieber's latest incident could even land him behind bars for breaching the conditions of a different conviction.
Last month Bieber pleaded guilty to reduced charges of misdemeanour reckless driving and resisting arrest without violence, following a street drag racing incident in Miami in January.
He was initially charged with driving under the influence, but made a plea deal that means he will take an anger management course and make a charity donation of $50,000.
In July Bieber pleaded no contest to misdemeanour vandalism for throwing eggs at his neighbour's house in Los Angeles, agreeing to pay his neighbours more than $80,000 in damages and serve two years' probation.
TMZ's Los Angeles law enforcement sources say an investigation has been launched to see if Bieber's latest brush with the law has violated any of his probation conditions
The singer is also being sued by a photographer in Miami who claims he was assaulted by Bieber outside a recording studio.
He has also been charged with assault after allegedly attacking a limousine driver in Toronto in December last year.
Police say Bieber allegedly hit the driver a number of times in the back of the head after he was picked up with a group in the early hours of December 30, but his lawyers say he is not guilty.
