Michael Ibrahim has had his parole revoked and been sent back to prison after a short, five-month taste of freedom.
The State Parole Authority revoked his parole on Thursday because he breached a non-association order preventing him from communicating with certain individuals.
The younger brother of notorious nightclub boss John Ibrahim has one year remaining of his original nine-year prison term for the manslaughter of Robin Nassour, the brother of Fat Pizza comedian George Nassour.
Ibrahim was shot outside his apartment on Macquarie Street in a botched execution attempt on January 4. He spent two days in hospital with a shoulder injury.
His Facebook page shows he has been enjoying a party lifestyle since his release on parole in August last year.
He has been a regular at nightspots like Cafe Del Mar and the "floating beach club" The Island and had started a new relationship.
Sources close to Ibrahim told Fairfax Media he had been using his freedom to "catch-up" with a number of previous associates, some whom he believed owed him money from before he went to jail.
He had revisited an ongoing dispute with a known Sydney criminal which escalated in the days before the shooting.
Ibrahim was released on parole with 25 strict conditions including that he not associate with certain individuals, that he wear an electronic monitoring anklet and that he not visit several local government areas, the State Parole Authority said in a statement.
He was found to have breached the non-association order by communicating with prohibited individuals.
Ibrahim was first eligible for parole consideration on March 15, 2013, but was not granted parole for another 18 months.
