HEALTHY sales of a DVD featuring four-wheel-driving adventures in the Great Ocean Road and the Grampians have already been snapped up and its producers are hopeful it will result in a tourist boom.
The DVD, made by 4x4 adventure legend John "Roothy" Rooth, has already sold more than 30,000 copies online and via distribution through outdoor living stores.
Mr Rooth said the feedback from the Victorian episode has been amazing, with many people saying they were now planning their own trips to the region.
"We are all about encouraging people to get out and see more of the country and showing them how easy it can be for anyone with a 4WD and some commonsense," he said.
"Sales of SUVs are at a record high in Australia so more families than ever before have the opportunity for off-road adventure."
Mr Rooth and his friends Glen Hadden and Kent Hindley teamed up for the new venture called LowRange TV, which he describes as three mates exploring Australia in their 4WDs, camping, fishing, surfing and cooking up a storm as they travel off the beaten track.
The series combines educational aspects of off-road driving, bush cooking tips, fishing and more to appeal to both devoted 4WD enthusiasts and first-timers wanting to make more use of their family vehicle.
The LowRange team filmed their second episode in Victoria, which is now available from the LowRange website (www.lowrange.tv) and BCF stores.
