Work is continuing to safely restore power to 3000 Endeavour Energy customers following widespread storm damage over the past 48 hours.
But the process is being hampered by torrential rain and further damage caused by trees continuing to fall across power lines, an Endeavour Energy spokeperson said.
As of 12.30pm, work was underway:
■ In Glenorie, Glenhaven and Castle Hill, where 1000 customers were without power;
■ Along the Bells Line Road in the Blue Mountains between Kurrajong Heights, Bilpin and Mount Tomah, where 750 customers were without supply;
■ Along the Hawkesbury River between St Albans, Wisemans Ferry and Webbs Creek, where 650 customers require their supply restored; and
■ In the Shoalhaven region, where 300 customers were without power.
"Endeavour Energy would like to thank these customers for their patience as we complete repairs to the extensive damage caused by this storm," its spokesperson said.
"All available crews from Kings Park, Parramatta, Penrith, Windsor, Katoomba, Bowenfels and Hoxton Park are currently working in The Hills and Hawkesbury districts to complete the restoration effort.
"As the clean-up of our network is being completed, Endeavour Energy is progressively deploying its resources to assist Ausgrid."
