Man arrested over Hayden Burnes murder

Homicide Squad detectives have today arrested another man in relation to the stabbing death of 15-year-old Hayden Burnes at Minchinbury last year.

Hayden suffered severe stab wounds at an industrial estate at Marieanne Place about 8.30am on December 5 and died as a result of his injuries.

Strike Force Lemongrove was formed to investigate Hayden’s death, and is led by the Homicide Squad with assistance from St Marys, Mt Druitt, Penrith and Tuggerah Lakes police.

About 7.20am today Thursday, September 6, police arrested a 42-year-old man at an address in Hurstville.

The man, formerly of The Entrance, was taken to Hurstville Police Station and is currently being interviewed by detectives.

A 36-year-old man arrested last month by Strike Force Lemongrove detectives remains before the court.

Investigations are continuing and detectives have not ruled out making further arrests.
