A man celebrating his birthday at a hotel in Sydney's west was taken to hospital with eye injuries after he was hit in the face with a glass, police say.
The man's 24th birthday party at the High Flyer Hotel in Condell Park was cut short when he was injured about 5.40pm on Sunday.
He was the second person injured by a glass at a licensed premises in Sydney over the weekend, police said.
In a separate incident, a man who became involved in an argument with two women over a spilt drink at a bar in Double Bay in Sydney's east suffered a chipped front tooth and a cut to his lip when one of the women allegedly threw a glass at him on Saturday night.
In Sunday's incident, police and paramedics were called to the car park of the High Flyer Hotel, a sports bar on Birch Street, after reports that a 24-year-old man had been injured.
Police said the man was celebrating his birthday with a group of friends at the hotel when another man approached the group and struck the victim above his left eye with a glass. The offender then left the hotel.
The injured man was taken to Bankstown Hospital where he was treated for cuts to the eye, police said.
Officers from the Bankstown Local Area Command set up a crime scene at the hotel and are appealing for anyone who saw the attack to contact police.
In the incident at Double Bay, police said a 20-year-old man was at a licensed premises with friends about 9.45pm when he became involved in a dispute with the women.
Police said the man went into the male toilets and was followed by the women. One of the women allegedly threw a glass at his face.
The man went to Paddington police station and reported the alleged assault. Officers from Rose Bay Local Area Command went to the premises and set up a crime scene.
Police said about 7.50pm on Sunday, a 31-year-old woman went to Waverley police station.
She was arrested and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and common assault.
She was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Waverley Local Court on September 16.
