'They couldn't keep their hands and lips off of each other': Drake and Serena Williams an item?

The world's number one player and the Canadian rapper have been pictured having a steamy makeout session at a restaurant on Sunday night.

The photographs, obtained by TMZ, were captured just hours after 28-year-old Drake watched WIlliams win the Women's Tennis Association tournament in Cincinnati.

"The two had a private room in the back of the eatery," TMZ reports, "where they couldn't keep their hands and lips off of each other ... while several patrons watched."

Rumours of the pair dating have been floating around since Drake watched 33-year-old Williams play Wimbledon in July and has attended other games since then.

It is not the first time the pair have hooked up and a source told Page Six they're just 'friends' now.

"Serena briefly dated Drake around 2011 and even though it didn't end that well, they have remained friends since," the source said. "He has been at her side at a lot of tournaments recently, including Wimbledon in July, where he sat in her box next to her sister Venus.

"Serena is single at the moment and is focused on winning the US Open, and making history."

In 2013, Drake rapped about Serena in the song Worst Behaviour: "I'm with my whole set, tennis matches at the crib/ I swear I could beat Serena when she playin' with her left."

He probably couldn't, but regardless it looks like it's game on for the pair.
