Carjacking in Rooty Hill

Police are appealing for public assistance following a carjacking in Rooty Hill.

Police said at about 3.30am on Wednesday, September 11, a man, 48, stopped his vehicle on Rooty Hill Road North, near the Short Street intersection, where he was approached by two men.

One produced a sawn-off rifle and ordered the man out of his Ford Falcon XR6 and onto the ground.

The two men then fled in the car, and were last seen heading north.

At about 6.30pm, Mount Druitt detectives attended a property on Linlee Street, Girraween, where the stolen Falcon XR6 was found.

The vehicle was seized for forensic examination.

Police want to speak to two men who have been described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance.
