Man stabbed in Blacktown

Police have arrested and charged a man following a stabbing at Blacktown yesterday.

About 11.15am, September 17, two men (aged 35 and 40) were at a medical centre in Marcel Street when they became involved in a verbal argument.

Both men left the area in separate cars where the 40-year-old man was followed to the traffic lights at the corner of Blacktown and Bungarribee Road.

A 35-year-old man allegedly got out of his car and attacked the other man who was sitting in the front passenger seat of his car.

He was stabbed in the arm and knee during the incident and subsequently attended Blacktown Hospital for medical treatment.

Detectives from Blacktown Local Area Command commenced investigations into the stabbing and attended a house in Torres Crescent, Whalan where they arrested a 35-year-old man.

He was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and reckless wounding.

The man was refused bail to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court today (Tuesday 18 September 2012).
