It’s the last day of classes for year 12 students at Glenwood High School, who will graduate tomorrow.
With HSC exams looming and a formal still to attend it’s not quite the end of the road, but students are sad that their school days are almost over.
Navdeep Singh said she was both excited and nervous at the prospect of finishing high school.
‘‘I’m going to miss everyone and coming to school every day,’’ she said.
‘‘It’s going to be so different next year.’’
Navdeep plans to study either teaching or law at university and said she would miss the fun things the whole grade did together.
‘‘The picnics, the sport times, taking photos together, and how we have fun together at lunch time,’’ she said.
‘‘Every Friday we play music at lunch and everyone just dances.’’
Prefect Thomas McBride said he was upset to leave his friends.
‘‘I just remind myself that life is like that, people move on,’’ he said.
‘‘You sometimes go separate ways with old friends and then you make new ones.’’
Sheena Prasad said she had mixed emotions.
‘‘I’m happy because I get to do something outside of school finally, but sad because I’m going to miss my friends,’’ she said.
‘‘I want to go to uni and probably do accounting.’’
Aparna Garg predicted there would be tears at tomorrow’s graduation ceremony, where students will release white helium balloons in the quad to symbolise their freedom and letting go of their school years.
‘‘When my mum sees that she will probably have tears in her eyes,’’ Thomas said.
