The three men charged in connection with the shooting murder of NSW police employee Curtis Cheng have faced fresh charges of belonging to a terrorist organisation.
On Wednesday, the NSW Joint Counter Terrorism Team charged Talal Alameddine, 23, Raban Alou, 18, and Mustafa Dirani, 22, with "membership of a terrorist organisation".
Mr Alou and Mr Alameddine have been in custody since October when they were charged with a slew of offences relating to their alleged involvement in the murder of Curtis Cheng.
Mr Cheng, a police accountant, was shot from behind and at close range by 15-year-old Farhad Khalil Mohammad Jabar outside police headquarters in Parramatta on October 2. The teenager was then fatally shot by police.
Mr Alou is already facing a charge of aiding, abetting, counselling and procuring the commission of a terrorist act.
Mr Alameddine is charged with knowingly participate in a criminal group, supply pistol to an unauthorised person, acquire pistol contrary to a Firearm Prohibition Order and hinder discovery of evidence
Police believe Mr Alameddine, 22, sourced the older-style handgun used to shoot Mr Cheng and supplied it to Raban Alou, 18, who then allegedly supplied it to schoolboy killer Farhad Jabar.
Mr Dirani was arrested in November, while driving his car in Ryde. He was charged with knowingly participate in the supply of a pistol and knowingly participate in a criminal group.
All three men were charged at Bowral Police Station after being transported from Goulburn supermax prison on Wednesday.
All have been refused bail.
Mr Alameddine will return to court on January 14 while his co-accused will face court again next month.
