Lavana Miles (right) and her family nearly did last week as they exited the M7 at Sunnyholt Road, Acacia Gardens last week.

Mrs Miles was returning home with her husband and family near midnight on September 30 when she saw a large object, almost invisible in the dark, at the foot of the ramp.

"I thought it was a dead animal and called to my husband to stop," she said.

"But when I got out of the car, I saw it was a tyre, stood up in the middle of the road."

Mrs Miles heard voices, then saw a group of people hiding in the bushes.

"I called triple-0 and they ran away," she said. "I was mortified.

"The anger I felt when I saw these kids, because they were just waiting for something to happen.

"If someone hadn't been paying attention they could have been killed.

Quakers Hill police said they could not find a record of the incident.
