Two people were hospitalised after overdoses at the Midnight Mafia dance party at Homebush overnight, according to NSW police, a day after another two were hospitalised at a festival in the Hunter region.
The overdoses were the fourth for the state in 24 hours after two teenagers were treated for drug-related conditions at a dance festival in the Hunter region on Saturday.
A 19-year-old man was taken to Concord Hospital about 12.10am but released later on Sunday morning, while a woman was also treated at Concord hospital about 2.30am for a suspected overdose.
Meanwhile a teenage girl remains in a critical condition in hospital in the Hunter region after overdosing at the Groovin' the Moo music festival on Saturday.
The girl, who is believed to be 15, was admitted to the John Hunter Hospital on Saturday afternoon after attending the festival in Maitland, north of Newcastle.
A spokesman for NSW Health confirmed the girl was still in hospital but said no further details could be released because she was a juvenile.
The overdose was the second associated with the festival.
A 17-year-old youth was also transported to Maitland Hospital. He has since been discharged, the spokesman confirmed.
Both overdoses appeared to have occurred around 2.30pm.
NSW Ambulance transported the girl to hospital, at the time describing her condition as "critical".
The youth was transported around the same time.
Saturday was the first leg of the Groovin' the Moo festival, which describes itself as Australia's only regional touring music festival. The Maitland event was the first of six events held at various regional centres during April and May.
The last post on the festival's Facebook page published 10 hours ago, said: "Thankyou Maitland that was an epic start to our tour".
In the past year, seven people have died after allegedly overdosing on drugs at music festivals across Australia.
A 25-year-old woman died at the Stereosonic festival in Sydney in December, and a 19-year-old man died at the event's Adelaide leg.
