Blacktown residents can safely dispose of old household chemicals this weekend.
A free chemical cleanout day will be held on October 14 at Blacktown Council’s Rooty Hill Depot in Station Street, Rooty Hill from 9am to 3.30pm.
Chemicals, paints, gas bottles, batteries, motor oils, pesticides and herbicides, pool and hobby chemicals can be taken to the depot.
Used or broken bulbs and old car batteries can also be taken to the cleanout.
The day is run by the council and Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water.
