A senior member of the Rebels motorcycle gang has been charged with gun and drug offences in Wagga Wagga on Saturday.
The 48-year-old man, who police say is a sergeant-at-arms of the Rebels, was arrested at about noon as part of an investigation into drug supply in the area.
Police searched his home and found a stun gun, a knife and a bag of white powder which police believe is amphetamine.
He was charged with ongoing drug supply, possessing prohibited drugs and two counts of possessing a prohibited weapon. He was refused bail and will appear at Wagga Wagga local court on Sunday.
The arrest was part of Operation Swiftblade which police say is a high-visibility strategy targeting so-called outlaw motorcycle gangs in the Riverina region.
It comes a day after police shutdown a clubhouse linked to another outlaw motorcycle gang, the Black Uhlans in Albury, after drugs and alcohol were seized during a raid.
More than 500 "containers" of alcohol were confiscated and a small amount of amphetamine were allegedly discovered on two men during the raid.
At about 6pm on Friday the clubhouse, which police say is linked to the Black Uhlan gang, was searched, along with 20 club members who were there when the raid took place.
Four people were issued with Field Court Attendance Notices for drug and liquor offences and will appear before court at a later date, while a small amount of drugs was allegedly found on a 55-year-old club associate and a 31-year-old club member.
After the raid was over, several vehicles leaving the clubhouse were also stopped by police, who issued six major defects and 10 notices for excessive exhaust noise.
Albury Local Area Commander, Superintendent Evan Quarmby, said local police would continue to utilise all resources at their disposal to disrupt OMCG (outlaw motorcycle gangs) criminal activity in the area.
"Any OMCG member who breaks the law can expect to come to the full attention of police," he said.
"The public should not have to put up with their criminal behaviour and we certainly won't tolerate it.
"I would urge any person who has information about the criminal activities of OMCGs to come forward. All information can also be given in strict confidence."
