A 49-year-old man was stabbed in the neck during a "targeted" home invasion in broad daylight in Sydney's west on Tuesday.
The man answered his door on Kiora Street in Canley Heights just before 1.15pm and found two men waiting on his doorstep, police said.
Police said the pair attacked the victim, with one of them stabbing him in the neck.
He managed to escape and run to a neighbour's home where he raised the alarm.
The attackers fled to a white van, police said, and were last seen driving east along Kiora Street.
Paramedics treated the man for the wound to his neck before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
Kiora Street was taped off as a crime scene was set up at the house, which was being examined on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said initial investigations suggest the attack "may be targeted".
