FOR years, rugby league supporters have enjoyed the Silvertails v Fibros rivalry.
Now football fans have their very own derby, with the big spending "Bling FC" against the workman-like Wanderers.
Sydney FC's Italian superstar Alessandro Del Piero will headline the Sky Blues glamour team against the newly-formed Wanderers, with Japanese import Shinji Ono playing the leading role.
Earlier this week, Wanderers officials confirmed the derby will be a sell-out following on from Sydney FC's bumper crowd of 35,000 against Newcastle last week.
Fans wanting to see the mouth-watering match-up between Del Piero and Ono can still reserve a seat by becoming a Wanderers foundation member.
Wanderers executive chairman Lyall Gorman said he was excited by the dedication and forward planning of football supporters.
"This has been a much anticipated event since the Wanderers joined the A-League," Gorman said.
Both Sydney clubs go into the contest looking to register their first win of the season and knowing local bragging rights are on the line.
Sydney FC's blue-half of town will enter the contest as slight favourites but those west of Pennant Hills Road will be equally confident of knocking off one of the A-League's championship favourites.
Wanderers captain Michael Beauchamp has represented both Sydney clubs and will be looking to get one over his former employers on Saturday.
"All the boys are totally motivated for the game," Beauchamp said.
"It's a great milestone for everyone to go out there and support the club."
