BLACKTOWN police are seeking a youth suspected of being involved in setting fire to an automatic teller machine in Lalor Park early this morning.
A spokesman said they have a description of the youth who was seen with several others at the machine before the incident at the Freeman Street shopping centre about 12.20am today.
He also said the money in the ATM was not affected by the fire and had been recovered.
Police from Blacktown Local Area Command and Fire and Rescue NSW units attended the scene in response to reports that an ATM had been set on fire at a shopping centre.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity in the vicinity of the Freeman Street shopping centre last night is asked to call 9671 9199.
