A man has been charged with murder after he allegedly killed his mother in the NSW central west on Friday.
Police arrested the 28-year-old man on Union Street in Forbes at 6.15am after they responded to a "concern for welfare" call.
He was taken to Forbes Police Station.
Shortly afterwards, police found the body of a 59-year-old woman at a home on Underwood Street.
Local detectives formed Strike Force Haddington to investigate her death.
Several crime scenes were set up in Forbes, which were examined by forensic officers.
On Friday evening, the man was charged with murder. He will appear at Parkes Bail Court on Saturday.
