FIREWORKS, live entertainment, fun and games are all part of the 10th Blacktown Relay For Life to be held at Blacktown International Sportspark's Athletics centre this weekend, October 27-28.
The relay starts at 10am with a Survivors Walk when cancer survivors and their carers make the first lap around the track.
This event will be followed by live performances on stage featuring various groups, including Celtic Dreamtime, Steve Fogarty, Dance Expression, Cerdon College, Aquarius Dancers, Seven Hills- Toongabbie RSL Jazz Ballet and Blacktown City's Seniors Choir Group, Simply Voices.
Other activities will include Heart Moves, tai chi, jumping castles, face painting, junior olympics with Sydney Blue Sox mascot "Syd" and GWS Giants mascot "G-Man" making a special appearance during the day.
At 8pm, the candlelight Ceremony of Hope will take place to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer.
This will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
Highlander Celtic Band will wrap up the evening's entertainment on the main stage from 8.45pm with the relay running through the night until 10am on Sunday morning.
Money raised from Relay for Life events across NSW will go towards the Cancer Council's world class cancer research, prevention, support services and advocacy programs.
Relay For Life is not just about the amazing experience of spending the weekend with people from your local community — it's also about the fun ways your team can raise money in the lead-up to the day.
