police said a pedestrian was killed near Blacktown today when he was struck by a semi-trailer.
POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a fatal accident on the M7 Motorway at Blacktown this morning.
A semi-trailer travelling south struck a 40-year-old man near the Sunnyholt Road on-ramp at Kings Park about 3.30am, police said.
The road was closed while investigators and emergency services worked at the scene and traffic had to be re-directed for several hours.
Police said the victim died at the scene before they or other emergency services arrived.
The driver, 40, was taken to Blacktown Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
He was assisting officers as they prepare a report for the coroner.
