Western Sydney Wanderers wide man Jaushua Sotirio has secured his future after signing a contract extension with the club.

Sotirio, 21, has signed on a new two-year deal that would keep him at Wanderland until the end of the 2018/19 A-League season.

The pacey winger had a breakout season last term, making 22 appearances and scoring one goal.

Sotirio has missed the opening two A-League matches of the new season due to injury but it keen to get back on the field with the Red and Black.

“I’m feeling very happy to have signed a two year extension with the Wanderers. I played quite a bit last season, gained a lot of minutes under my belt and that was a great experience”, he said.

“In a professional sense, the Wanderers are the best club in the Hyundai A-League and I feel I’m developing and learning every day: from the coaches to the players everyone here is a unit.

“Popa always demands the best out of you and he always pushes you in getting the small details right: we have a good team environment here and I feel I’m improving every day.”

Former Wanderers captain Nikolai Topor-Stanley has completed his transfer to UAE Pro League outfit Hatta Club.

Topor-Stanley jetted off to the Emirates on Friday after the Wanderers gave him permission to pursue what is believed to be a lucrative deal in the Middle east.

The 31-year-old’s departure leaves reserve keeper Jerrad Tyson as the sole survivor of the club’s maiden A-League squad.
