Thrifty Blacktown are celebrating 25 years of service to the community by moving to a larger site.

The business is relocating to 77 Richmond Rd Blacktown (opposite the showground precinct) on Thursday April 20.

A spokesperson from Thrifty said that the staff wanted to thank their corporate and retail customers for their loyalty and support.

“We are offering 15 per cent off the rate of the day – a voucher in the ad needs to be presented to Thrifty Blacktown on collection and conditions apply,” she said.

The new site is required due to Thrifty’s expanding range of vehicles, which encompass cars, trucks, buses and 4x4s.

The business opened in Blacktown in 1992. The site was alongside an old service station and mechanical workshop on Richmond Road, with a small demountable office building and with limited space to park cars and trucks.

When the service station was sold Thrifty moved to the corner of Flushcombe and Newton Roads, but soon outgrew that site and the business relocated to the corner of George Street and Sunnyholt Road.

Thrifty is one of Australia's largest vehicle rental companies.

It is represented in every state, territory, capital city, major city, regional centre and commercial airport, and service over 260 locations nationally

It is the only Australian-owned international car rental brand and has been 100 per cent owned by NRMA Motoring & Services since December 2008.
