COMMUNITY PANTRY: St John’s Anglican Church, corner Hill End Road and Cameron Street, Doonside hosts a mobile pantry, 10am-11am, every second Monday which offers low cost groceries to those on a limited income. Take your pension, health care or immigration card and pay $10 and you can fill a bag with groceries of your choice from whatever is available on the day. Next date is April 24. GREEN MATTERS: Blacktown and District Environment Group will meet on Monday, April 24, 6pm-8pm, at Westpoint Community Room, Level 4, Patrick Street, Blacktown (near the gym). BE HAPPY: Confidence coach Anita van Rooyen will run a workshop called Happy & Confident You at the Seven Hills Community Centre, 5 Artillery Crescent, Seven Hills on Thursday, April 27 from 6.45pm. Drawing on her own experiences Ms van Rooyen established her coaching practice in 2014 and since then has helped hundreds of people break through destructive patterns to a “joyful, meaningful and phenomenal life”. EXPLORE HISTORY: The Friends of St Bartholomew’s will hold their annual Back to St Bartholomew’s Day on Saturday, April 29, 9am-3pm, at historic St Bartholomew’s Church, Ponds Road, Prospect. There will be a town crier, NSW Marine Corp, variety stalls, historic exhibitions, self-guided cemetery tours, demonstrations of conservation work, musicians, a sausage sizzle, coffee cart and much more. SIMPLY VOICES: A choir for senior citizens needs males in the tenor/bass range aged over 50. No audition required. The group practises Monday afternoons at Bowman Hall, Campbell Street, Blacktown.
