“I used Queen, because he sold out on everything else he might as well back the Queen.”

Just hours after he interrupted Human Services Minister Alan Tudge to defend Blacktown, Ed Husic has used his own press conference to have a go at the Prime Minister.

The Chifley MP shared his Spotify playlist Malcolm’s Partyroom Playlist (Party like it’s 2009), full of Queen songs with not-so-subtle jabs at Malcolm Turnbull.

Songs including Under Pressure, Another One Bites The Dust and If You Can’t Beat Them take on new meaning when applied to a Prime Minister cautiously navigating a divided party’s response to the Finkel review.

Mr Husic also shared the link on Twitter, suggesting it would “help the PM unwind before tonight’s Midwinter Ball”.

His serious suggestion was that the federal government should “stop the bickering” and present a clean energy policy that reflected the findings of the review into Australia’s energy market.
