HOME PROJECTS: Learn to tackle your own DIY projects with experts this month as part of the Bunnings Warehouse Blacktown, Marsden Park and Seven Hills adult DIY workshops. Held every Saturday and Sunday at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm topics include windows and doors on July 22 and 23 and flooring on July 29 and 30. GO GREEN: Blacktown and District Environment Group meets on Tuesday, July 25, 6pm-8pm, at the Westpoint Community Room, Level 4, Patrick Street, Blacktown (near the gym). MEMBERS SOUGHT: Blacktown Workers Womens Bowling Club is looking for new members. Lawn bowls is a great activity for fitness, fun and friendship. Bowling days are Wednesday from 9.30am and there’s a mixed competition on Saturdays afternoons. The club offers free coaching to men and women. ACTIVE RETIREES: Probus Club of Prospect welcomes retired or semi-retired residents who would like to keep active and meet a happy group of men and women, as well as join in day trips and coffee mornings. NIFTY KNITTERS: Novice and experienced knitters are welcome to meet each week to knit squares for the Wrap with Love charity. This charity distributes colourful wraps to communities in need around the world. The group meets at the lounge area on the ground floor of Max Webber Library, Blacktown from 1pm on Thursdays.

KEEN GARDENERS: Are invited to join the Blacktown City Garden Club which meets the first Wednesday of the month at Blacktown Boys High School, Fifth Avenue, Blacktown from 7.30pm. Guest speakers and day trips. Details: 9622 1238.
