Two women have been charged after hundreds of cannabis plants were seized from six western Sydney homes.

Two Marayong houses were among those raided on Thursday by Strike Force Grassy officers from the Redfern Region Enforcement Squad. Homes in Lidcombe, Yagoona, Beverly Hills and South Wentworthville were also searched.

Police alleged the homes had all been converted into hydroponic cannabis set-ups, where they seized 365 plants worth an estimated $1.3 million.

A large sum of cash, dried cannabis and mobile phones were also seized.

One woman, 49, was arrested at the Yagoona home and another women, 51, was arrested at Stacey Street in Punchbowl soon afterwards.

They were taken to Bankstown Police Station and charged with offences including cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant.
