An individual approach to supports

A beauty and spa program is bringing pampering and relaxation to a group who would not normally get to enjoy something many other women take for granted.

The Australian Foundation for Disability (Afford) Blacktown Lifestyle Centre's program involves participants having their make-up done, nails painted, hair braided and hands and feet massaged, with the support of Afford staff to put on make-up and nail polish.

It is an example of how Afford takes a whole-of-life approach to disability supports under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Afford Support Coordinators work with individuals and their families and carers to go through their NDIS Plan to ensure they are connected with the right supports and the right therapies and services to suit their needs.

Staff at each of Afford’s 17 Lifestyle Centres create programs that are suited to the interests and goals of clients. The organisation helps more than 2,500 people every day to achieve their goals.

Afford NDIS Planning Specialists are advocates for people with disability. Afford provides NDIS supports to people every day and works on behalf of clients to ensure they receive the best care and support they need and deserve.

In addition to Blacktown, Afford has Lifestyle Centres at Ashfield, Belmore, Campbelltown, Canley Vale, Chipping Norton, Condell Park, Green Valley, Guildford, Jamisontown, Kings Park, Llandilo, Lurnea, Mount Druitt, Oran Park, Prestons and Windsor. Afford also offers Respite and Group Homes to support families in the Blacktown region.
