Blacktown’s high street was cordoned off after a pedestrian was hit by a car on Friday afternoon.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said paramedics were called to Main Street just before 3pm, after a man in his 40s was struck by a vehicle.

He was treated at the scene for a head injury and taken to Westmead Hospital.

Buses were diverted away from the street as police investigated the incident.

The man’s condition is unknown.

More to come.
