A man has lost his license after allegedly cutting off a police car while more than three times over the alcohol limit.

Police were travelling along Knox Road, Doonside, at 2.30am on Sunday when they were cut off by a car taking the slip road from Eastern Road.

Officers braked harshly and then pulled over the driver, a 24-year-old Doonside man.

The driver tested positive to a roadside breath test, and was arrested and taken to Blacktown police station, where a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.166.

The man’s license was suspended and he was charging with high-rang drink driving. He is due to appear at Blacktown Court on November 24.
