It was a long three years of going through auditions in Los Angeles before Australian actor Isabelle Cornish would land a dream role in Marvel's Inhumans.
"There is a lot of in-betweens with jobs and as an actor you have to try and not dwell too much and just keep on going," she told Fairfax Media this week.
To avoid times of feeling down and out, the former Home and Away and Puberty Blues star, 23, redirected her focus to mindfulness and her passions.
"Health, fitness and cooking. I'm also a qualified 300-hour yoga teacher so that features a lot in my practice too. As long as you have another creative outsource it will benefit you," she said.
That's why she was the perfect fit for Australia-raised, Singapore-based friends, Ciara Yeo and Wen Ling Lim, co-founders of the Mindful Company, as they launched their fine, affordable jewellery collection over lunch at Nomad, Surry Hills, this week.
Swapping brands names with everyday reminders, such as "Warrior", "Gratitude", "Patience", "Live in the Moment", their mission is to spread hope and kindness.
Dressed in a structured, cream Aje dress with black trim, styled by Dale Mckie, Cornish chose a gold bangle that read "Believe", she said: "To remind me everyday to listen to my heart and never stop believing in my dreams."
The younger sister of Abbie Cornish, star of Sucker Punch and Robocop, is spending some "quality time" at home until January. Her family have a farm in the Hunter Valley but she will base herself in Newcastle, where she grew up.
"It's the best place for me to stay grounded from when I have been in LA," she said.
Her plans for the holidays include beach days, summer road trips and "some work" back in Sydney.
