Jacqui Lambie has resigned from the Australian Senate
Tasmanian Senator Jacqui Lambie will resign from the Australian Senate after confirming she holds dual citizenship.
Confirmation on her British citizenship came through early on Tuesday morning.
Senator Lambie took to the Tasmanian airwaves to tell her constituents about the decision. Read more
Transport NSW to announce Ferry McFerryFace as new Sydney ferry
Over a year after the Name Your Ferry competition was launched, Transport NSW has announced the name of the final ferry in its new fleet: Ferry McFerryFace.
Sydneysiders were encouraged to vote on names for the new ferries through the Name Your Ferry website and using the #yourferry hashtag.
Ferry McFerryFace was actually the second most popular choice, however, with the most votes going to Boaty McBoatFace, the name of a British research vessel. Read more
Central Coast beaches closed after shark attack
A 25-year-old man is recovering in hospital after fighting off a shark on the NSW Central Coast.
British doctor Charlie Fry was surfing with two friends at Avoca Beach when a two-metre shark jumped out of the water and hit him in the right shoulder about 4pm on Monday. Read more
Man dies in fiery crash while being followed by police at North Narrabeen
A man has died in a fiery crash while being followed by police on Sydney's northern beaches on Monday night.
Shortly before 11pm, officers attempted to stop the car on the Wakehurst Parkway in North Narrabeen.
While police were following the car, the vehicle crashed into a tree and caught alight. Read more
Carjacking sparks police pursuit through Wollongong
Two men have been charged after a carjacking at Picton sparked a dramatic police pursuit through Wollongong on Monday morning that was captured on video.
Police allege the men, who were arrested in Figtree, have been involved in a number of armed robberies, and aggravated break and enters across Griffith, Cootamundra, Wagga Wagga, and The Hume police commands for the last three days. Read more

Eddie Jones apologises for swearing, hits out at snooping journalist
England coach Eddie Jones apologised for an expletive-laden rant on Saturday while watching his side but has expressed outrage that a member of the UK press pack would take a photo of "classified information" pinned up on a wall at the team hotel.
Sky Sports broadcast footage of Jones during the England and Argentina match appearing to mouth the words: "How f***king stupid are we?" before slamming his notepad down on a table in anger.
After copping criticism after the match, Jones addressed the issue at a press conference on Monday morning and said sorry that he reacted in such a manner. Read more
Mark Waugh indicates Matt Renshaw likely to be spared Test axe
Australian selector Mark Waugh has indicated that opener Matt Renshaw is likely to be spared the axe for the first Test at the Gabba next week, despite his bleak pre-Ashes form continuing in Brisbane on Monday.
The 21-year-old was installed as David Warner's opening partner after the Australian team's debacle against South Africa in Hobart last November but while it was the most timely of hundreds that won him a call-up a year ago he has found runs very hard to come by in the lead-up to the England series.
