Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a teenage girl on her way to school in Rooty Hill yesterday.

The victim, 15, told police she saw a man lying down as she was walking along a laneway between Charlotte Road and Brussels Crescent at about 9.15am on Tuesday, November 14.

The man tried to talk to her as she walked past but she ignored him.

He then allegedly grabbed her, pushed her against a fence and sexually assaulted her.

The girl was eventually able to escape his grasp and run from the scene.

She alerted Mount Druitt police, who are investigating the incident.

The alleged attacker was described as African in appearance, aged between 20-35, with a tall, thin build. He was wearing light grey track pants with a hooded Nike jumper.
