Nine CEO Hugh Marks is confident the network has no Harvey Weinstein-type predators stalking its corridors "at the moment", but admitted sexual harassment problems from its past were likely to surface at some point.
"I'm very confident that our culture at the moment is a very positive and supportive one," Marks told the Screen Forever conference in Melbourne on Thursday.
But he added, "I'm sure there were problems 20 years ago, I'm sure there are things that will come out in the public that will talk to those problems.
"But from where I sit right now, I feel like we've got an excellent culture that supports equality."
Nine's commitment to gender equity was recently questioned in the wake of Lisa Wilkinson's shock defection to rival Ten.
Marks and Nine were widely criticised after reportedly failing to meet Wilkinson's requests for equal pay to her Today co-host Karl Stefanovic.
But the CEO has defended the decision to let Wilkinson go, calling the headlines over pay equity "unfortunate".
"I don't regret it all. It was the right decision to make," he told the Daily Telegraph on Monday.
"The fact that it became something that is not the issue at hand I think was unfortunate. It undermines the good work that we've done, undermines the debate and the discussion."
On Thursday, he echoed the sentiment, calling Nine's culture "supportive" to women.
"We've got an equal mix of men and women on our board, on the executive team we've got a pretty good mix of men and women, and I think the culture is one of creativity, openness, and supportiveness," he told the conference.
Focus on sexual harassment and misconduct in the local media industry has increased in the wake of Hollywood scandals surrounding Weinstein, director James Toback, comedian Louis CK, and others.
Journalist Tracey Spicer, who is working on an investigation to name and shame "serial predators" in the industry, recently revealed misconduct claims against late Nine News director John Sorell.
Sorell, who died of a heart attack in 2009, has been described as "the architect of the ratings success of Nine's news during the 1980s and '90s."
In her memoir, Spicer wrote about the harassment she received from Sorell, who reportedly told her he wanted "two inches off your hair and two inches off your arse."
She has said "plenty more" industry predators, including "household names", were likely to be named in coming months.
