By now, students who have completed their final school exams in 2017 will have received their results. HSC results are available to students online and sent to students by email and SMS in December. More than 70,000 students participated in their final school exams in 2017. Education Minister Rob Stoke congratulated all students for the years of hard work it has taken to reach this point. "While it is an important opportunity to demonstrate skills and knowledge, at the end of the day it's just an exam," Mr Stokes said.
Some 2017 HSC enrolment statistics:
- 70,270 students were recorded as being on track to achieve the HSC this year
- 77,975 students were enrolled in one or more HSC courses
- 51 per cent are female. 49 per cent are male
By region
- About 64 per cent completed HSC courses in the Sydney region
- Just under 1 per cent completed HSC courses interstate or overseas
By course
- Mathematics, Biology and Business Studies were the most popular electives
- Japanese was the most popular language in 2017 followed by French
- Hospitality was the most popular vocational course
