Lawyers for the sister of convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby have claimed the Federal Police seized documents "well outside" the scope of a search warrant as part of a series of raids over an alleged $2 million interview deal.
Mercedes Corby's barrister, Sue Chrysanthou, told the Federal Court on Thursday she was seeking a review of decisions by magistrates to issue search warrants and other orders under proceeds of crime laws.
The Darlinghurst office of Corby's lawyer, Bill Kalantzis, was raided by Federal Police officers last week amid speculation that Channel Seven paid $2 million for an interview with Schapelle.
The alleged deal could breach the Proceeds of Crime Act, which prevents people profiting from offences.
Seven West Media, which owns Channel Seven, its publishing arm Pacific Magazines - owner of New Idea - and the network's lawyers are also seeking a review of orders that triggered raids on their Sydney offices.
Justice Jayne Jagot ruled that the common parts of the cases should be heard together next Friday.
Claims that are unique will be dealt with separately, including Corby's allegation that some documents that were seized by police were "well outside the ambit of the warrant".
