London: England coach Eddie Jones apologised for an expletive-laden rant on Saturday while watching his side but has expressed outrage that a member of the UK press pack would take a photo of "classified information" pinned up on a wall at the team hotel.
Sky Sports broadcast footage of Jones during the England and Argentina match appearing to mouth the words: "How f***king stupid are we?" before slamming his notepad down on a table in anger.
After copping criticism after the match, Jones addressed the issue at a press conference on Monday morning and said sorry that he reacted in such a manner.
"I'd just like to apologise for swearing in public," Jones said. "[It is] not acceptable, so I apologise for that and I'll find a different way to express my frustration in the future. I won't address that any more after this."
Next, Jones made it known he was not happy that sensitive information about England had been reported in the media.
It is believed the story Jones is referring to was published in the Daily Mail last week before the match against Argentina and outlined how a giant workload plan expected of players was laid out for them in fine detail.
The information on the wall was obtained at a "touchscreen at the entrance to the private England rugby floor" at their Pennyhill Park hotel.
The story went on to give a summary of players' schedules while under Jones' watch and clearly it did not go down well with the England boss.
"I'm very disappointed in the way the media has behaved," Jones said. "We've had a member of your contingent break into our area at the hotel, take photos of classified information, so we're extremely disappointed and I'd expect more professionalism from the journalist.
"It's obviously one who I'm not going to name but I'm really disappointed and I would appreciate in the future if you respected our private areas of the hotel. It's quite disappointing. I'm not going to address that topic anymore, I've made my point and that's the end of it."
Jones' comments have seen the England and Australia Test week begin with a real bang.
England will be looking to continue their four-game winning streak over Australia, however, Jones was rather complimentary of the Wallabies and how they have fared since being thumped by New Zealand in August.
Jones was given the opportunity to talk up the work of Wallabies coach and his old Randwick teammate Michael Cheika but instead chose to applaud Mick Byrne for the improvements he has overseen.
In doing so, Jones said Australia were the form team in world rugby at present.
"They got beaten by 50 points (the margin was actually 20 points) in their first Bledisloe Cup [match in Sydney] and the last one they won it, so they've really turned it around," Jones said.
"There's some really good coaching. Mick Byrne has definitely made a difference as a skills coach. You can see his influence on the team. Their selection has been good, their defence is very good, their set-piece is strong. They're playing some good rugby and they're probably the form team in the world at the moment."
