Food delivery disguise used to cover up alleged shooting

Police allege the shooter opened fire at 7.45pm while standing outside the Wentworthville, Sydney gym however no one was injured including the suspected target.

The 20-year-old is the second man to be arrested and charged over the attempted murder. A 19-year-old remains before the courts.

A white scooter was found alight near the gym in Wentworthville by emergency services shortly after the shooting, police said. It was seized by Strike Force Berallier to undergo forensic testing.

Police raided the man's Campsie home at 4am on May 8 and he was placed under arrest.

He was charged with 10 offences including shooting with intent to murder, discharging a firearm intending to cause grievous bodily harm, firing a firearm in or near public place, possess ammunition without holding a licence/permit/authority and possessing an unauthorised pistol.

He was also charged with disguising his face with intent to commit indictable offence as well as driving without consent of the owner, unlawfully possessing thing resembling number plates and two counts of driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period.

He has been refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on May 9.

Investigation under Strike Force Berallier continues, police said.
